Salaries of medical workers to rise by 20% in Belarus in 2020

 

There are plans to increase salaries of healthcare workers by 20% in 2020, Health Minister Vladimir Karanik told the ONT channel, BelTA has learned.

The minister informed that the president set a task to double the salaries of healthcare professionals by 2025. "Payment mechanisms are changing. This pertains to the instruments of payment. The base payment will grow substantially, however the number of bonuses will drop to 13. This way we will be able to raise salaries quickly and for all in the future. The increase will make up 20% in 2020," the minister said.

"At present we have a small base payment and 44 bonuses (incentives and compensations) and the decision on these bonuses is made either by a chief doctor or some other official on the ground. Some decree of subjectivity is always present," the minister explained.
