Freight transportation by Belarusian companies 9.7% up in Q1 2018

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – In Q1 2018 Belarusian corporations and self-employed businessmen transported 106.1 million tonnes of freight, 109.7% as against January-March 2017, representatives of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

Freight turnover totaled 33.7 billion tonne-kilometers, 6.9% up from the same period of last year.

In Q1 2018 some 492.6 million people used passenger transportation services, 98.8% as against the same period of last year. Passenger turnover amounted to 5,549.3 million passenger-kilometers, 101.6% as against Q1 2017.
