Belarus’ freight traffic up 2.3% H1 2017

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian organizations and self-employed businessmen shipped 209.4 million tonnes of cargo in H1 2017, up 2.3% from the same period of last year, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

Freight turnover climbed by 4.9% from H1 2016 to total 64.8 billion tonne-kilometers.

The Belarusian carriers transported 984 million passengers, 94.9% as against the same period a year earlier. Passenger traffic amounted to 11.8 billion passenger kilometers, 100.7% as against H1 2016.
