Belarus eager to step up cooperation with Malaysia in personnel training

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus suggests more intensive cooperation with Malaysia in personnel training. The relevant matters were discussed when Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich met with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian parliament Pandikar Amin Mulia on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich suggested discussing in detail the matters concerning personnel training in universities and the training of top-qualification scientists. Belarus and Malaysia are busy working on several agreements on cooperation between universities and MPs could accelerate the process. Mikhail Myasnikovich was convinced that tighter cooperation in personnel training could help advance political, trade, and economic relations.

According to the head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament, the visit of the Malaysian parliament delegation is viewed in Belarus as a good sign for the persistent advancement of bilateral relations, including between the parliaments. For instance, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus is interested in establishing contacts with the upper chamber of the Malaysian parliament and would like its head to visit Belarus.

During the visit the delegation of the Malaysian parliament has already held negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko. It was noted that the Belarusian side would be happy to welcome delegations of parliaments and business circles, which arrive for the sake of fleshing out top and high-level agreements. Mikhail Myasnikovich assured that the agreements reached with the House of Representatives among other parties would be honored in full by the Council of the Republic, too. “We will enable the most comfortable conditions for it,” Mikhail Myasnikovich concluded.
