On August 30, the employees of the Dubrovensky State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a Unified Road Safety Day
"In the new school year - safe roads for everyone!" This is the slogan under which the State Automobile Inspectorate holds the Unified Road Safety Day on August 30. It is important for parents to be an example for their children in observing traffic rules: Do not rush, cross the road at a measured pace. Cross the road only in places designated by road signs and markings. When you step onto the roadway, stop talking - the child must get used to the fact that when crossing the road, you need to concentrate. Get off the bus or taxi first. Otherwise, the child may fall or run onto the roadway. Involve the child in your observations of the situation on the road: show him the cars that are preparing to turn, driving at high speed, etc. Do not get out with the child from behind a car or bushes without first inspecting the road: this is a typical mistake, you cannot allow children to repeat it. Do not allow children to play near roads and on the roadway of the street.
Regarding bicycle injuries: every parent, before buying a bicycle for their child, should teach the child the Rules of safe behavior on the road when riding a bicycle. No one can replace parents in teaching a child disciplined behavior on the road, observing safety rules.
You should explain to your child the basic rules:
it is safest to ride bicycles in yards, residential areas, stadiums and specially designated places where vehicles are impossible to appear;
it is prohibited to ride a bicycle without holding the handlebars or without keeping your feet on the pedals;
it is necessary to ride on special bicycle paths, and if there are none, on sidewalks, without interfering with pedestrians; the
roadway is not a place for riding a bicycle;
only children over 14 years of age are allowed to ride a bicycle on the roadway, if necessary;
When crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing, cyclists are allowed to remain on their bikes, but they should know that immediately upon approaching a pedestrian crossing, the cyclist must slow down and, having made sure that it is safe to enter the roadway, cross it at the speed of a walking pedestrian;
When riding on the road at night or in poor visibility conditions, the bicycle must have the following on: a headlight (flashlight) emitting white light in front, a flashlight emitting red light in the back, the cyclist must be wearing clothing with reflective elements;
it is imperative to use protective equipment: a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist pads, and also, in the dark, bandages, belts, vests with reflective elements.
We remind you that you are allowed to participate in traffic on a moped (scooter) from the age of 16 only with a driver's license. A future driver can independently study the traffic rules, undergo a medical examination and, upon reaching the age of 16, pass a theoretical exam at the State Automobile Inspectorate. After successfully passing, he will receive a driver's license to drive a moped (scooter) of the "AM" category.
Parents! Be attentive to your minor children! You must know where your child is and what he is doing. Talk to them more often about the rules of conduct on and near the road. Explain what danger the roadway poses. Drivers transporting children in their vehicles should also remember that the fate of the child in an emergency is determined by how he sits in the car. After all, you can often see how the child does not even sit, but stands behind the father-driver or mother-passenger or between the two front seats of the car. In this position, the baby has a great view through the windshield and at the same time his safety ends.
According to paragraph 178 of the Road Traffic Regulations, children must be transported in a passenger car equipped with seat belts using: child restraints that correspond to the weight and height of the child, for children under five years of age;
child restraints that correspond to the weight and height of the child, and other means (boosters, special seat cushions, additional seats) that allow the child to be safely fastened using seat belts provided for by the design of the vehicle, for children between the ages of five and twelve. It is also prohibited to transport children under twelve years of age on the back seat of a motorcycle or moped. It is permitted to transport children under twelve years of age without using child restraints if the child's height exceeds 150 centimeters, as well as in a taxi.
