Wind turbines and mini-hydropower plants plan to launch in Vitebsk Oblast in 2020

Several wind turbines with a capacity of 3 MW and mini-hydroelectric power stations with 0.16 MW are planned to be launched next year in Vitebsk Oblast. This was reported during the session of the oblast Council of Deputies by Sales Deputy General Director of RUE "Vitebskenergo" Pavel Kharitonov.

According to the expert, the development of the energy sector in Vitebsk Oblast goes in several directions. Fuel consumption for the production of electric and thermal energy reduces due to the modernization of existing facilities and the introduction of the latest technologies.  

Thus, the commissioning of a stem and gas unit with a capacity of 427 MW at Lukoml State Power Plant reduced fuel consumption. In addition, several types of raw materials are actively used in the power system.
