Enough flu vaccines in Belarus

 

Belarus has purchased enough flu vaccines and has distributed them across the regions, Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik told reporters on 2 October, BelTA has learned.

The vaccination has already started in Belarus. “I hope if vaccination goes well, it will help avert the burden of influenza this year,” Vladimir Karanik said. He recalled that influenza epidemics was prevented last year due to a high vaccination coverage.

A reminder, over 3.7 million people received flu shots in 2018, including about 950,000 children and teenagers under the age of 18. The vaccination rate approximated 40% in the past flu seasons, which helped keep the influenza burden at a low level.
