Chinese billionaire plans to set up car rental system for public use in Belarus

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Director General of Guangzhou Xinjinlai Import and Export Trade, billionaire Wang Enpei plans to launch a project “Cars for Public Use” in Belarus. A Chinese delegation led by Wang Enpei is in Belarus on a visit from 11 to 16 March, BelTA learned from the website of Belarus’ National Agency of Investment and Privatization.

The project is meant to form a car rental system for public use. All the major operations (car reservation, information support, including 24/7 hotline, payment for services, and others) will be performed via means of mobile communication using customized software. Foreign tourists, state-run and private organizations, and also individuals are expected to be the main users of this system in Belarus.

The system has been gaining traction in China. Specialists say that by 2025 around 600,000 cars will be operated in China on this basis, with the annual growth of 45%. The average distance range of electric cars per charge is close to 500km, which allows their commercial use.

Wang Enpei also said he intends to register his company in the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone and consider launching high-tech production in the park.

During the visit, Chinese businessmen also met with senior staff of the Economy Minsitry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry and with heads of executive committees. The guests also visited a number of companies. They are set to seal deals to purchase Belarusian food products with Dzerzhinsk Meat Processing Plant, Molodechno Dairy Plant, Meat-Dairy Company, Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Plant, and Veles-Meat.
