The Belarusian team delivered a successful performance at the 30th International Geography Olympiad (iGeo), the Belarusian Ministry of Education told BelTA.

Marking one of their best results ever in this prestigious competition, the Belarusian national team secured three medals of all ranks. Arseni Turovich won gold, Anastasiya Sharamet took silver, and Danila Kostyleu claimed bronze.

Yelena Kolmakova, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformatics at Belarusian State University (BSU), and Deputy Dean Dmitry Vorobyev led the team. The students underwent training for the Olympiad at this BSU faculty.

Istanbul hosted iGeo 2026 on 11-17 August, an event widely regarded as the premier global geography competition. The tournament featured 184 schoolchildren representing 50 countries from five continents.
