Practical issues of the development of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation were discussed during the fifth meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental committee in Beijing. The Belarusian delegation was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov.

Nikolai Snopkov, the chairman of the intergovernmental committee from the Belarusian side, said that cooperation between Belarus and China is an example of a new type of international relations. The establishment of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership is a historic step and a new powerful impetus to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Nikolai Snopkov stressed that unique opportunities and mechanisms have been created to deepen practical cooperation across the entire spectrum of areas.

In terms of trade and economic cooperation, Nikolai Snopkov noted that "our shared goal should be a new milestone in trade growth of at least 20%. To do this, it is extremely important to put together procurement mechanisms, increase rail transportation and ensure the operation of green corridors."

The head of the delegation stressed the importance of developing industry-wise cooperation using high-tech technologies and competencies.

During the meeting, the parties expressed a strong approval of the development of the Great Stone Industrial Park as an international high-tech center for investments.
