Profession to your liking: Kristina Ignatyuk combines work and social activities

Christina participated in such competitions for the first time, but it was she who was entrusted with the leadership of the sanitary unit. According to her, the most difficult thing was to provide assistance to victims with bruises, lacerations, and do all this while wearing a gas mask.

According to the results of the competition, the squad of the Vitebsk branch took third place (after the Gomel and Baranovichi branches). By the way, Lyudmila Gatikh (Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railways) was recognized as the best commander of the sanitary squad based on the results of the theoretical competition, and Alla Bukhmanova, a psychologist at the Vitebsk locomotive depot, won in the nomination “For personal contribution to achieving high results of the team’s work.”

“It was an interesting experience that will be useful to me in the future,” said Christina. – Our team, as well as units from Polotsk and communication distances, were trained by the chief of the civil defense headquarters of the Vitebsk station, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and doctors. During the month of preparation, we united and became friends. We studied twice a week, and these meetings were filled with interesting communication.

Christina has been working on the highway since 2008.

– I like to explore the highway from different sides, meet new people, communicate. The locomotive depot has a very friendly team, and these are not just words, the depot is like a home for me. But it’s happiness when you like your work, you go there every day without a painful feeling or stone in your soul,” Christina shared.

The railway gave her the opportunity to try herself in sports. Christina defended the honor of the locomotive depot in regional departmental running competitions and helped the team take a prize. And in 2021, she became a participant in the Miss Railway sectional competition, where she won the title of Miss Perfection.

Her father Sergei Usov also works on the highway; he is the leading engineer of the general technical department of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railways (previously he worked in the commandant's office of military communications of the railway section and Vitebsk station). Mother Irina is a hairdresser. At a fateful moment, they allowed their daughter to follow her intuition in choosing a life path, for which she is grateful to them.
