Pertsov speaks about opposition’s methods to destabilize Belarus

In order to destabilize the situation in Belarus, opponents use information and psychological operations centers, as well as resort to journalistic and pseudo-journalistic opportunities, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov said in an interview to ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The president said that they will not leave us alone. If it seems to someone that the focus of attention has moved to the Middle East, to the conflict that is going on in Ukraine, it is wrong. We are gearing up for political campaigns in the near future. These are the Belarusian People's Congress, which will be held in a new constitutional status, and the presidential election campaign, on which the main resources of our opponents will be focused,” Vladimir Pertsov said.

Speaking about the resources that could be aimed at destabilizing the situation in Belarus, the deputy head of the Belarus President Administration named the centers of information and psychological operations, as well as the use of journalistic and pseudo-journalistic opportunities. “This will be aimed at winning the minds and hearts of Belarusian citizens so that they are loyal to those who do not wish us well, so that they welcome those occupiers who are already preparing offensive troops in the north and west,” he emphasized.

“The president said that in this case it was necessary to resort to the high standards of journalism, the approaches that work. We need to tell the truth. Of course, information and psychological operations as well as other manipulations can be effective at some point. They cause people to commit offenses under the influence of the emotions that these technologies foment. But the dust clears and people see that what they have been led to believe is not true. And they turn to the sources they trust,” the deputy head of the Belarus President Administration said.
