Belarus-Russia military cooperation plan features over 160 joint events
The cooperation plan of the defense ministries of Belarus and Russia provides for over 160 joint events, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said during a joint session of the boards of the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian Ministry of Defense, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian defense minister said that the members of the board compared notes on a number of pressing issues, including countering attempts to falsify the history of the Great Patriotic War, running a joint task force, and conducting joint operational and combat training events.
Viktor Khrenin also assessed the level of interaction between the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia: “Today, another cooperation plan has been approved; it provides for more than 160 joint events. The members of the board reviewed cooperation prospects in the military sphere and defense industry and took stock of the progress to implement the Union State programs.”
The defense minister emphasized that the parties see eye to eye with each other and are on the same page on all issues discussed. “This helped thrash out cooperation plans between the military of the two countries. There is no doubt that if all these plans come to fruition, this will help strengthen the defense capability of the Union State,” he remarked.
