Belarus makes gains in Global Innovation Index 2019

Belarus ranked 72nd in the Global Innovation Index 2019, showing a strong improvement in comparison with the previous year (86th), BelTA learned from the Twitter account of Belarus' permanent mission to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva.

The new edition of the Global Innovation Index (GII) "Creating Healthy Lives — The Future of Medical Innovation" was presented in New Delhi, India on 24 July.

GII, ranking the innovation performance of 129 countries and economies around the world, has become one of the leading reference standards in assessing the efficiency of innovations in economy and making comparative analysis to promote dialogue between state and private sectors. With the help of GII, politicians, business leaders and other shareholders can assess innovative progress on a yearly basis.

Every year, GII presents a thematic component that tracks global innovation. The GII 2019 special theme analyzes the medical innovation landscape of the next decade, looking at how medical innovation will transform the delivery of healthcare worldwide.
