The regional stage of the VI Republican Competition of Professional Skills brought together students of colleges of the Vitebsk region and the Russian Federation in the competence "Carpentry".
On the basis of the branch of BSTU "Vitebsk State Technological College", for two days the children will compete in assembling a joinery - a stool on four legs made of birch boards. You will have to prove yourself both when making a drawing, blanks, and at the stage of direct assembly, grinding and during bringing the finished product to perfection.
Parting words to the youth, the head of the vocational education department of the Main Department of Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Korolev, stressed that there would be no losers at the end of the competition, because each participant will receive invaluable experience as a pleasant bonus, and over time will be able to take advantage of a certain advantage in employment.
The knowledge and skills of the contestants are evaluated by the chief expert, master of industrial training of the branch of BSTU "VGTK" Maxim Sivakov (his former graduate) and master of the Polotsk State Chemical Technology College Alexander Tsyganok. With the help of a computer program, they will check all the gaps, each joinery connection. Particular attention will be paid to the quality of the work performed.
Sergey Lopukhov, Deputy Head of the MDF Department of JSC "Vitebskdrev", who also graduated from VGTK, was invited to the regional stage as an independent expert. After studying for assignment, he ended up in JSC "Vitebskdrev", where he worked his way up from a simple machine operator to the head of the workshop. It was the knowledge and skills gained once in college that helped Sergey Lopukhov become a real professional in the woodworking industry.
Along with five guys, Alexandra Semenchuk, a first-year student of the branch of BSTU "VGTK", is fighting for victory at the regional stage.
Back in her school years, the native of the Gorodok district became interested in jewelry and planned to connect her future with work with precious stones and metals. I decided to enter the relevant specialty at the Vitebsk college. In addition to jewelry wisdom, the fragile girl is mastering the second specialty here - a woodcarver. In the process, she became interested in carpentry.
At the competition, Sasha is confident in her abilities. He sees more pros than cons in having to compete with guys. She believes that her girlish painstaking, perseverance and perseverance will help to show a good result. Alexander's tool is already on a first-name basis, however, she admits that even before college she had to use a plane, a chisel and a chainsaw. Once she even tried to chop wood and everything worked out.
Stanislav Misyura, a third-year student of the same college, is also confident in his abilities. In 2023, he successfully led the regional stage, and then won the ProfSkills Belarus republican professional skills competition. Guys from the Polotsk State College of Chemical Technology Denis Avadnev and Yegor Danilevich are also counting on prizes.
Third-year student Yegor Mikstais, who came to the competition in Vitebsk from Pskov, noted that in his homeland he won prizes in competitions of this kind several times. With his own hands, a student of the Pskov Polytechnic College can already make any furniture and machines. And the genes inherited from his grandfather, an artist, help him to show his creativity in carpentry. From the competition, the guy expects, first of all, a certain exchange of experience with Belarusian peers and interesting communication.
The winner of the regional stage in May will represent the Vitebsk region at the republican stage.
