Innovative teacher Mikhail Volkov turns 70! Creative evening of the famous Vitebsk resident was held in the gymnasium No 8
At the end of January, Mikhail Nikolaevich Volkov, Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus, holder of the Order of Francysk Skaryna, holder of diplomas of the first degree of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR, winner of seven prizes from the special fund of the President of Belarus for social support of gifted pupils and students, a well-known public figure, turned 70 years old.
For more than 40 years, Mikhail Nikolaevich has been working in the Vitebsk gymnasium No 8, which is the successor of secondary school No 37 and lyceum No 1 of the city of Vitebsk. The innovative teacher devoted his whole life to mathematics and helped thousands of children master this important subject. Mikhail Volkov started 37 candidates and 9 doctors of science, trained 225 winners of the final stage of republican, as well as winners of international Olympiads. He heads the gymnasium's math center and works with gifted students.
Mikhail Volkov was congratulated on the anniversary by the leadership of the city executive committee, the administration of the Pervomaisky district, representatives of the main education department of the regional executive committee, the teaching staff of the gymnasium, graduates who also became mathematicians, and students.
The head of the main department for education Dmitry Khoma presented the hero of the day with certificates of honor of the regional executive committee and the department, thanked him for his dedication to his profession and a significant contribution to the development of the education system of the Vitebsk region and the country.
During the congratulations, the teachers noted that their senior colleague was not only a teacher from God, but also an excellent athlete, activist, and intellectual. He is very loved and respected for his kindness and erudition, love of life and excellent sense of humor.
Warm words were also heard in honor of the wife of the hero of the day Galina Dmitrievna. This couple has been inseparable for almost 50 years. They raised children and continue to give their love to their grandchildren.
At the anniversary evening, Mikhail Volkov was congratulated with creative performances by the military orchestra of the Vitebsk 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, soloists of the vocal studio "Clear Voice", teachers of gymnasium No 8, the Vitebsk KVN team "Rabbits-warriors".
