The solemn reburial ceremony took place at the memorial complex in the village of Kholomerye. Five servicemen who died during the Great Patriotic War found their last refuge there. Unfortunately, the names of the fallen could not be established.
The event in Holomerye was attended by representatives of regional and district authorities, labor collectives, search engines, and young people.
- More than 80 years have passed since the liberation of the Vitebsk region from the Nazi invaders, but every year during the search work on the battlefields the remains of Red Army soldiers who gave their lives for the liberation of the Motherland are found. Thanks to their exploits, today we live in a free country under a peaceful sky, raise children and work for the benefit of Belarus. Dmitry Demidov said. "A large number of people are involved in the search activities, ranging from volunteers to the relevant units of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus and other law enforcement agencies. A lot of work is also being done with archival documents. The task is not only to preserve the memory of our ancestors-heroes, but also to convey this respect and gratitude to the younger generations.
