How will Victory Square in Vitebsk change after reconstruction?

 In Vitebsk, a unique illuminated flat fountain will be installed on Victory Square. Now work is in full swing there, related not only to the construction of the fountain; other elements of the square are also being transformed.

Thus, on the façade of the house the phrase “The feat of the Soviet people is immortal” was updated.

What still remains to be done and when the facility is planned to be put into operation, the BB correspondent found out. According to Sergei Polsky, chief engineer of the Vitebsk Construction Department, work is currently underway on the square to install bowls for fountains, foundations for two pumping stations are being installed, and monolithic work is beginning to fill the bowl for the pool. Next in line is the installation of equipment - nozzles for the fountains, of which there will be 118, after which the tile covering will be restored.

“According to the concept of the project, the nozzles will be located in groups of three rows with a gap in the center to frame the visual dominant - the Three Bayonets monument,” emphasized Sergei Polsky. – The fountain will be dynamic: the color of the jets, their height and dynamics can change according to programmed scenarios, including thematic light and music programs for various holidays, – Victory Day, City Day, the “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk” festival and others. The maximum height of the jets is 5 meters.

It is planned to complete the reconstruction of Victory Square in time for the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
