Athletes of the Vitebsk region won the team competition at the Olympic Youth Days of Belarus in Greco-Roman wrestling
The Vitebsk region team became the winner of the Olympic Youth Days of the Republic of Belarus in Greco-Roman wrestling for the second year in a row, the website of the Vitebsk State School of the Olympic Reserve reports. Competitions among cadets born in 2007-2009 were held in Grodno on October 17-19.
Of the 10 team members, 8 are students and graduates of VGUOR. Six of them reached the podium: Sardor Yusupov won the gold award in the weight category up to 45 kg. Stanislav Kiselyov (up to 71 kg) and Kirill Valevsky, a graduate of the college, world and European champion among cadets (up to 80 kg), also became gold medalists. Two wrestlers were placed on the second line: Evgeny Lipchenko (up to 45 kg) and Ilya Golynsky (up to 55 kg). Frol Matushkov (a graduate of VGUOR) became the owner of the third place in the weight category up to 80 kg.
