On February 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleynik met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.An exchange of congratulatory messages took place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan (February 3, 1994).The parties noted the high level of Belarusian-Pakistani relations achieved over three decades. Particular emphasis is placed on the results of cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in the trade and economic sphere. The positive dynamics of interaction between the two countries in international organizations was noted.The Belarusian side expressed gratitude to Pakistan for supporting Belarus' application to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and promptly ratifying the Memorandum of Commitments in order to obtain the status of a member state of the SCO. Issues of interaction in all dimensions of the SCO were also discussed.The interlocutors outlined work plans for 2024, including exchange of visits, holding inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs consultations and a number of thematic events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Mutual interest in intensifying the entire range of bilateral relations between Belarus and Pakistan was confirmed.
