What should I do to avoid being a victim of bike theft?
On the territory of the Polotsk district and the city of Polotsk, the number of bicycles purchased by citizens is growing every year, unfortunately, along with this, the number of their thefts is also growing. A bicycle is a valuable and, at the same time, often carelessly stored property. This negligence and negligence is increasingly being used by intruders. Bicycles are stolen either for resale or for hooligan motives.Remember that a landing or an entrance, even if closed, is not the best way to store a bicycle, even if it is strapped in. Modern cables, despite their external strength, can be eaten, and the lock does not help in this case.
Do not leave valuables and easily removable bicycle parts. If possible, it is better to remove the entire package, even the saddle, if possible — such a bike will not attract attention and will present less value to an attacker.
Do not leave your vehicle in places where an attacker can easily steal it. The bike should be in the field of view of the security cameras, if there are any, or in such a place as to remain in your sight while you are inside the building, while the bike should still be fastened, even if you left it for a short time.
Dear citizens! Never buy a bike without documents. Remember that in this case you risk becoming the owner of a stolen vehicle.
