Vitebsk region expands cooperation with China
Recently, the region hosted a delegation from Shandong Province. Despite the distance of almost 8 thousand kilometers, the partners find new points of interaction that intersect in the areas of innovation industry, education and youth initiatives. As a result of the short-term visit, three memoranda of cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres were signed today.
- Vitebsk region is located at an important point of the "Silk Road Economic Belt". We can strengthen our cooperation in such areas as the construction of a logistics center in the industrial park, as well as in the field of culture and sports, " said Wang Yuyan, Head of the Organizational Department of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee. – We are glad that the Vitebsk region is always open to Chinese partners and hope for fruitful results.
Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina stressed that the signed memorandum is a great opportunity to exchange experience in creating and organizing high-tech centers with Chinese partners.
By the way, at the International Economic Forum "Innovations. Investment. Prospects", which was held in Vitebsk in May, the delegation from China was one of the most representative. And this is no coincidence, because the economic effect of cooperation between the partners has been felt for several years: only in 2022, the growth of exports from the region to China almost doubled.
