Ungulate corral hunting season opens in Belarus on October 1

The season of corral hunting for ungulates will open in Belarus on October 1. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Ministry of Forestry.

The season runs until December 31. Hunting is allowed on animals of regulated species - elk, wild boar, red and spotted deer, fallow deer, mouflon. You can hunt by corral and with dogs during daylight hours, from ambush and from approach during the day. For hunting elk, red deer, fallow deer, adult wild boar older than two years, it is allowed to use rifled hunting weapons with a muzzle energy of more than 3 thousand bullets. For example, smoothbore hunting weapons using bullet-loaded ammunition, hunting bows and crossbows. For sika deer, roe deer, moufflon and young boar - rifled hunting weapons with a muzzle energy of more than 1.5 thousand bullets. For example, smoothbore hunting weapons with bullet or buckshot cartridges, hunting bows and crossbows. Breeds of hunting dogs are selected by the decision of the user of the hunting grounds.

Corral hunts are a high-risk area and require even greater responsibility from participants, especially from hunting managers. "Despite the repeated demands of the Ministry of Forestry on the need to take additional measures to ensure compliance with the safety rules for hunting, there are accidents, including fatal ones. The main reason for the fatal injury of hunting participants is the elementary non-compliance with the safety rules of its conduct by the hunting participants themselves during its legal conduct, " the Ministry of Forestry said.

The main violations are shooting at noise, rustling, at an obscure target, in fog, in heavy snowfall, at dusk, against the sun and in other conditions of poor visibility, as well as at a bird taking off below 2.5 m in conditions of limited visibility; shooting before the hunter is not previously convinced that in the event of a heavy snowfall, at dusk, against the sun and in other conditions of poor visibility, as well as at a bird taking off below 2.5 m in conditions of limited visibility. there are no people or pets in the direction of the shot; shooting at hunting animals along the shooting line, outside their own sector, after the signal for the end of the pen, independently choosing a place and leaving the number before the end of the pen.

"In connection with the opening of corral hunting, in order to prevent accidents during hunting, all users of hunting grounds need to organize additional training for officials (hunting managers) in the rules of hunting safety," the department stressed.

The Ministry of Forestry also draws attention to the need to comply with the requirements of the hunting rules, according to which, when implementing a hunting permit, permit and (or) a hunting permit for a permit, an official of the user of hunting grounds or his higher organization or other organization is obliged to familiarize the hunter with the boundaries of the units of intra-farm division of the territory of hunting grounds in which he is allowed to hunt, and also with the hunting procedure established in the hunting grounds and the rules of hunting safety, after which the hunter signs for familiarization in the hunting permit or hunting permit to the permit. "If an accident occurs during hunting, the head of the hunt must immediately inform the internal affairs bodies, the head of the user of hunting grounds, and the State Inspectorate for Animal and Plant Protection under the President of the Republic of Belarus about the accident," the press service noted.
