On additional occupational health and safety measures during the harvesting campaign

From July 15 to August 31, a month is being held on the territory of the Vitebsk region to ensure safety during the harvesting campaign of grain crops.

Work on harvesting grain crops is carried out in a short time and with the maximum involvement of equipment and workers. Insufficient level of control over compliance with the requirements of labor protection and safety of work, labor discipline creates prerequisites for industrial injuries.

In practice, there are often cases of non-fulfillment by managers, specialists and employees of the labor protection obligations established for them, as well as non-compliance with technical and technological regulations when operating vehicles, machines, mechanisms, equipment. Employees often ignore the requirements of instructions on labor protection, labor and production discipline, and do not use personal protective equipment.

To achieve the greatest effectiveness of raids, visits to agricultural organizations will be organized jointly with state labor inspectors, representatives of state fire supervision bodies, the sanitary and epidemiological service and other interested in ensuring unconditional compliance with the legislation in the field of safe work.

In order to avoid accidents, to exclude extraordinary emergencies during the harvesting campaign in the Vitebsk region, during the raids, fields and plots, agricultural facilities and sites at all enterprises of the agro-industrial complex participating in the harvesting campaign will be examined.
