The events started with a memorial meeting at the memorial plaque to Hero of the Soviet Union, Captain 1st Rank Samuil Bogorad, who was born in Vitebsk and during the Great Patriotic War was the commander of the Shch-310 submarine.
Navy veterans also visited Vitebsk Secondary School No. 8, which bears the name of Captain III Rank Anatoly Ispenkov, who tragically died on the Komsomolets nuclear submarine. They laid flowers at the memorial plaque located on the school building and visited the Museum of the Maritime Glory of Belarus, which is also located in the educational institution.
The program of events was continued by a concert program, which featured songs and poems familiar to sailors, and stories about the exploits of Belarusian sailors.
The final chord of the memorable day was a visit to the grave of retired captain 1st rank Anatoly Kovalev, who for a long time headed the regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Military Sailors.
