For the second year in a row, the team of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee became the winner of the republican industry Spartakiad

For the second year in a row, the national team of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the regional executive committee "Northern Capital" became the winner of the Republican Spartakiad of employees of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

The team consisted of people working in various social institutions. They are united by their commitment to a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, the desire to infect others with their example, and most importantly – to adequately present a huge team of social workers in Vitebsk region to colleagues from other regions.

– It was difficult for our athletes to gather for team training, – admitted the ideological inspirer of the Northern Capital, Deputy chairman of the committee Vera Astapenko. – After all, the team included employees of Bogushevsky, Vitebsk, Voronovsky, Selyutsky boarding schools and Beshenkovichi Shopping center. We trained in Vitebsk after hours on rented sports grounds, sometimes twice a day.

The fact that the boys and girls played is confirmed by their results: the first places in the athletics relay and table tennis, the second – in volleyball and combined power relay, the third – in darts competitions among managers and employees.

As a result, Vitebsk residents became the best in the overall standings, beating rivals from all regions and Minsk!

The honor of Vitebsk region was defended by 14 boys and girls, they were helped by a huge team of fans. About a hundred people – the largest support group – came to the republican Olympic training center "Staiki" with the sole purpose: to cheer for their own. It was easy to recognize the representatives of our region by a single form.

– And how impressed the jury, participants and spectators of the competition were by the appearance of our team at the opening!  Vera Astapenko recalls. – They paraded in white tracksuits with full-back emblems: contours of Belarus decorated with cornflowers. Young, fit, smiling athletes performing with the symbols of our Homeland, region, industry were accompanied by an ensemble of drummers.

This team of girls working in social institutions of the Orsha zone was created and rehearsed with the director of the Orsha shopping center Ekaterina Murenkova. In preparation for the Republican Spartakiad, many colleagues made and implemented their proposals. Denis Kupriyanov, an instructor in physical therapy at the Bogushevsky Boarding School, and Alexandra Korchagina, a specialist from the committee, were the team's coaches. Oleg Zakharenko, a physical therapy instructor at the Voronovsky Boarding School, and Nadezhda Karpenko of the Beshenkovichi Shopping Center, performed in several types of competitions. Tatyana Tolkacheva, Alexander Korol and Alexander Segal, Deputy directors of Babinichi, Selyutsky and Yakovlevich boarding schools, organized and conducted an entertainment program at the friendship evening.

The head of the department could not stand aside: the chairman of the committee, Boris Efremov, competed in darts, personally supported every performance of his subordinates.

– Vitebsk residents conquered everyone, – Vera Astapenko smiles. – We treated our opponents with respect, but we managed to set the tone for a healthy spirit of rivalry, an atmosphere of celebration, unity. As a result, even other people's fans were rooting for our guys.
