Ambassador: Great Stone is a good platform for Belarus to attract foreign investment

 

“Cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and investment between the two countries is constantly developing. The joint work on the Belt and Road initiative has brought encouraging results. According to the Chinese side, the trade between China and Belarus increased from $60.8 million at the beginning of diplomatic relations to $5.08 billion in 2022, up almost 83 times,” the diplomat said.

He also emphasized the effective operation of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone, which has 107 resident companies today. The Great Stone features such industries as mechanical engineering, electronic commerce, new materials, traditional Chinese medicine, artificial intelligence, the development of 5G networks. The volume of declared investments exceeds $1.3 billion.

“The China-Belarus Industrial Park has created a large number of jobs for Belarus, and also provided a good platform for the country to attract foreign investment, increase the competitiveness of its own products and expand foreign trade, which has become a vivid manifestation of mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries,” Xie Xiaoyong added.
