Alexander Subbotin visited polling stations NoNo 39 and 40 in the Vitebsk secondary school No 12 named after L. N. Filipenko

On the eve of the start of early voting in the presidential elections in Belarus, the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin visited polling stations NoNo 39 and 40 in the Vitebsk secondary school No 12 named after L. N. Filipenko. The head of the region assessed the readiness for the final stage of the electoral process.

Members of the precinct commissions were in their places. They counted and prepared ballots for distribution to voters by affixing at least two signatures of the commission members on each of them. Earlier, a reconciliation of voter lists was carried out, information about working hours, phone numbers of precinct commissions for the election of the President of Belarus was posted at the entrances of houses at the place of residence for the possibility of verifying their data, if desired, as well as registration for early voting. Invitations to participate in the elections and leaflets with biographical data of candidates were delivered to the mailboxes of citizens by the employees of the Vitebsk Post Office before January 15.

The chairman of the precinct commission No 40 Elena Gireeva informed the head of the region that the station is ready to receive voters. It has everything that is necessary to inform voters and conduct voting in accordance with the law. At the entrance to the polling station there is a stand with biographical data of candidates in two state languages and other information. Boxes for early voting and voting at the place of residence are transparent. New booths have been prepared, they contain samples of filling out the ballot so that it is recognized as valid, and information about the responsibility for taking it out of the polling station, as well as taking photos and videos of the completed ballot. The "Voter's Corner" was decorated. Here you can find the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus, the publication "Simvaly Supreme of Belarus" for presenting to first-time voters. There are 15 such people on the commission's list. For visually impaired voters, a magnifying glass with illumination and a stencil were provided. Volunteers will meet these people at the doorstep and accompany them around the site. The place for observers and taking photos and videos is also marked with signs. Round-the-clock duty of police officers is provided.

Alexander Subbotin praised the level of preparation for the vote:

"Each polling station is provided with everything necessary, early voting starts, the main day is Sunday. I am sure that the elections will be held without failures and in accordance with the electoral legislation of our country.
