Krasnoyarsk TV channel launches special project dedicated to Belarus

MOSCOW, 18 October (BelTA) The Yenisei TV channel of Russias Krasnoyarsk Krai has launched a new special project dedicated to famous Belarusian brands and life in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

The journalists from Krasnoyarsk spent several days in Belarus. They visited well-known companies, took a ride in a Minsk electro-bus, visited BelAZ and saw the legendary rock hauler that has been added to the Guinness World Records book.

Belarusian nuclear power plants first reactors physical launch scheduled for March 2019

OSTROVETS, 11 October (BelTA) The physical launch of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is scheduled for March 2019, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk on 10 October.

The official said: Bearing in mind the timeframe and technological requirements, the general contractor has put together a schedule, which specifies a number of key points and important events.


Belarusian BelAZ to increase dump trucks output by 30% in 2018

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) By year-end 2018, BelAZ will produce up to 800 dump trucks, up by 30% compared to 2017, BelAZ Director General Piotr Parkhomchik told reporters on 25 September, BelTA has learned.

The year 2017 saw a sharp spike in all financial and economic indicators of the company. The enterprise rolled out 615 dump trucks and sold 646. In H1 2018 BelAZ produced 407 dump trucks, by the year-end the figure will be close to 800, Piotr Parkhomchik informed.


Belarus, Cuba discuss exchange of visits

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) The exchange of visits at the high and highest levels was discussed at the meeting between Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko and Cubas Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Teresita Gonzlez Fraga, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of the Belarus-Cuba relations, including cooperation in politics, trade, economy, and interaction within the framework of international organizations.

Days of Georgian Culture kick off in Belarus

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) Days of Georgian Culture in Belarus opened at the Palace of the Republic in the Belarusian capital on 2 September, BelTA has learned.

The Georgian delegation is led by First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Giorgadze.

Belarus Culture Minister Yuri Bondar stated in his welcoming speech that the start to a tradition of exchanging days of culture between the two countries was given in November 2017.

Belarus opening honorary consulate in Lausanne

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) Belarus is opening an honorary consulate in Lausanne, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Switzerland.

The Swiss government has granted the exequatur to Andrei Nazheskin, Belarus Honorary Consul to Lausanne with the consular district in the Cantons of Vaud, Valais, Geneva, Neuchatel, Fribourg and Jura, representatives of the diplomatic mission said.

Belarusian books on display at Beijing Book Fair

Belarusian books are on show at the Beijing International Book Fair which is underway in the Chinese capital on 23-27 August, BelTA informs.

Following the official opening of the Belarusian stand visitors and participants of the exhibition got familiar with the best internationally recognized fiction and encyclopedic literature, popular science and educational publications, and also books and magazines for children.

Lukashenko replaces top government officials; Rumas appointed premier

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed new government members. The personnel decisions were announced by the Belarusian head of state, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Rumas who had chaired the Development Bank of Belarus was appointed prime minister.

Alexander Turchin who had been head of the Council of Ministers Office was named first deputy prime minister. Igor Lyashenko was appointed deputy prime minister.

Belarusian Information Ministry working on national television content resolution

The Information Ministry is busy working on a resolution on national television content. Belarusian Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich made the relevant statement on the air of the TV channel STV, BelTA has learned.

The official noted that the renewed mass media law is sufficient for making up ones mind about what the national television product is. A number of bylaws will be developed to supplement the law.

Extended visa-free entry to Belarus to boost countrys tourism infrastructure

MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) The extension of visa-free access to Belarus will contribute to the development of the countrys tourism infrastructure, Chairman of the Council of the Belarusian Union of Tourism Industry Filipp Guly said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The decree was a long hope. It opens wide opportunities for the countrys entire infrastructure, said Filipp Guly.
