VITEBSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Russia's Volgograd Oblast is interested in developing cooperation with Belarusian companies, Head of the Volgograd Oblast Export Promotion Center Viktoriya Afanasova, who has arrived in Vitebsk as part of the business delegation, told the media on 3 August, BelTA has learned.
Representatives of small and medium-sized business of Volgograd Oblast have already spent three days in Belarus. The program of the trip includes visits to companies, business meetings and talks in Minsk and Vitebsk Oblast. “As part of our business mission we represent four companies that develop equipment, electric appliances and master new construction technologies. These companies are showing interest in cooperation with Belarus, and not only them. This is our first visit. Volgograd Oblast is highly interested in cooperation with Belarusian companies, including Vitebsk ones. Our oblasts are aimed at establishing close ties. The two oblasts are getting ready to sign an agreement on cooperation,” noted Viktoriya Afanasova.
A big delegation of Vitebsk Oblast led by the governor visited Volgograd Oblast last spring. “The governors and business representatives held meetings then. Today we are paying a return visit to Vitebsk,” the head of the delegation added.
Russian guests have already met with representatives of the Vitebsk Oblast economy committee and districts of the oblast. The program also includes visits to resident companies of the FEZ Vitebsk, Naftan oil refinery and LLK Naftan in Novopolotsk. “We hope that the meetings will result in new cooperation projects, including investment in the establishment of joint companies. Our goal is to find common areas of interest and potential partners who are ready to work together, develop promising proposals and joint mutually beneficial cooperation,” Viktoriya Afanasova said.
