IFMC festival in Vitebsk features over 60 events

VITEBSK, 23 November (BelTA) The program of the 31st International Festival of Modern Choreography (IFMC) in Vitebsk will be interesting and packed with events, Culture Minister Yuri Bondar told reporters before the opening of the forum on 21 November, BelTA has learned.

This year the festival has gathered participants from 22 countries. Its program features over 60 performances and other events, the minister said.

Youth of Vitebsk, Pskov to develop cooperation

VITEBSK, 11 October (BelTA) The youth of Belarus Vitebsk and Russias Pskov have signed an agreement on cooperation, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast Committee of the BRSM Youth Union.

Rosselkhoznadzor lifts ban on imports from Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant

MOSCOW, 26 September (BelTA) The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) lifted the ban on the import of products of Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant to Russia on 26 September, BelTA learned from the website of the Russian food quality watchdog.

Rosselkhoznadzor had scrutinized the materials provided by the Department for Veterinary and Food Control of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry to investigate the reasons for detecting violations of the EAEU and Russian requirements by Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant, the statement reads.

ISS crew hails participants, guests of ASE planetary congress in Minsk

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) The crew of the International Space Station from the stations orbit above Earth hailed participants and guests of the 31st international planetary congress of the Association of Space Explorers (ASE). Harvest season kicks off in Belarus

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) The harvest season has started in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 16 July, an estimated 124,600 hectares planted with cereals and leguminous crops were harvested, which is 5.9% of the sown area. This years harvest season arrived in Belarus earlier than in the previous year.

Brest Oblast is currently leading having cropped 20.

Journalists from 11 countries to cover Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) Media personnel from 11 countries have been accredited to work at the 27th edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.

This year 390 reporters from 126 mass media outlets applied for accreditation.

Among them are 97 people representing 64 foreign mass media outlets from 10 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, China, Israel, Armenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Serbia and the United States.

Prastora Urban Art Forum to take place in Vitebsk on 22-24 June

VITEBSK, 13 June (BelTA) Prastora Urban Art Forum will take place in Vitebsk on 22-24 June during the City Day celebrations, head of the Center for Urban Projects and Initiatives Prastora Oksana Kuzina told BelTA.

The centerpiece of the forum will be a Smart City hackathon that will bring together IT specialists, designers, urban specialists and environmentalists. The smart city concept seeks to create new jobs and caters to the needs of local residents and visitors.
