Vaccination of the population has begun in the Dubrovno region

Traditionally, the season of acute respiratory infections lasts from October to April. This is an expected phenomenon for the beginning of the autumn season.
On the eve of the epidemic rise in the incidence of influenza, an annual vaccination campaign is carried out for the population.
– Vaccination against influenza will take place against the background of ongoing vaccination against COVID-19. In this regard, additions have been made to the vaccination tactics," said Daria Litvinova, assistant epidemiologist at the Dubrovno Center for Epidemiology.
She said that vaccination against COVID-19 began on September 1 and will last until December 2024, vaccination against influenza will begin from October 2024 to November 2024. It takes place in the Dubrovno Central District Hospital, the Osintorf BSU, the Zarubskaya General Practice Outpatient Clinic. To vaccinate the population against influenza in organized teams and rural areas, 3 mobile teams have been created in the Dubrovno Central District Hospital.
"In total, it is planned to vaccinate 25% of the district's population during the 2024 vaccination campaign. According to the procedure for vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 infection developed by the Ministry of Health, vaccination against influenza is carried out in the first place: adults who have completed the course of vaccination against COVID-19 infection; contingents of children 0-17 years old in accordance with the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations and children attending educational institutions.
If the patient needs to be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19, it is recommended to adhere to the following procedure: first, a course of vaccination against COVID-19; vaccination against influenza no earlier than 14 days after the completion of the full course of vaccination against coronavirus infection; or it is permissible to use the coronavirus vaccine and the flu vaccine together (on the same day) at the request of the patient in the absence of contraindications with the mandatory execution of written informed consent.
To prevent influenza and COVID-19 infection, only vaccines that have passed strict laboratory control are used," Daria Litvinova said.
She drew attention to the fact that vaccination does not always prevent infection with the virus, but it definitely prevents the severe course of the disease and the development of complications.
"If you still failed to avoid SARS (flu), then you should not self-medicate. It is necessary to contact the Dubrovno Central District Hospital in the infectious diseases room or stay at home and call a doctor, because it is impossible to predict the course of the flu, and complications can be very different. All medications should be used only as prescribed by a doctor, and in no case should you carry the infection "on your feet"! This is dangerous not only for you, but is also a powerful source of the spread of the virus among the population," Daria Litvinova emphasized.
