Dubrovets Denis Titenkov is one of the best insemination technicians in the republic

The economic well-being of any agricultural enterprise depends on the reproduction of the herd. And the key figure here is the insemination technician. Each of them inseminates more than 700 cows and more than 1,200 sows annually. Such statistics were cited by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Fedchenko at the opening of the Republican Competition of Excellence among workers in artificial insemination.

In the last days of summer, the final stage of the Republican competition of excellence among workers in artificial insemination of animals took place in the city of Smorgon, Grodno region.

42 zootechnical service specialists from all over the country came to the tests. The tasks were developed by teachers of agricultural universities. In total, there were 100 questions. Points were also awarded for the following indicators: livestock served, calf (piglet) yield, fertility efficiency, and others.

Denis Titenkov, artificial insemination operator at the Zaruby cattle breeding farm, took 2nd place in the nomination “Best operator for artificial insemination of cattle”, having answered all the questions correctly (second from the left in the photo).

We learned that Denis Titenkov has been working at the agricultural enterprise for three years. During this time, his professionalism has only grown. This is confirmed by the fact that he is the winner of not only the district stage of the competition, but also the regional stage, where he competed with artificial insemination operators from all districts of the region.

Denis Nikolaevich began his career in the Tolochin district, where he ended up after being assigned from the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy. A zootechnician by education, after working the required term, he returned to his homeland and got a job at the Bagrationovsky complex as a shop manager. Then he moved to Pravda-S OJSC, where he learned the basics of the profession of an operator for artificial insemination of cattle.

— I had a wonderful teacher, Irina Kireeva, thanks to her I came to this profession. Now I do not only insemination, but also treat gynecological diseases of cows. After all, without curing the animal, the inseminator will not get a good result, — says Denis Titenkov. — My working day begins very early. I get up at four in the morning, and at five I am already on my way to work. I need to make it to the morning milking, when all the machine milking operators are in place, because they are my main assistants. Now I am in charge of 515 heads of cattle, the calf yield this year was 94%, — shared Denis Nikolaevich.
