On the eve of the youngest state holiday of our republic — National Unity Day — a regional patriotic youth forum was held at the Dubrovensky Agrarian and Technical College.
Here, the ideological activists of the district and college students gathered at the dialogue platform "National Unity Day" to discuss the significance of the state holiday and talk about the historical aspects of the reunification of Western Belarus with the BSSR with a view to today.
The main speakers of the meeting were Natalia Voronina, head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Dubrovensky district Executive Committee, and Anna Dudovtsova, secretary of the district committee of the NGO "BRSM".
The participants of the dialogue platform discussed the issues of the historical basis for the establishment of the National Unity Day in the Republic of Belarus, the impact of foreign policy events on socio-political processes within the country. Special attention was paid to the examples of the strength of the national unity of Belarusians and neighboring peoples in countering external and internal threats.
In her speech, Natalia Voronina noted that the division of peoples in history is far from uncommon. However, historical facts testifying to the unification of such are extremely rare, and, as a rule, it took place on an unequal basis. Therefore, the reunification of the Belarusian people in 1939 became an act of historical justice, helped to withstand the hardest years of the Great Patriotic War and protect their freedom.
Anna Dudovtsova stressed that today Belarusians are a self—sufficient people who know at what price peace and independence were won in their native country. This means that we must do everything to preserve our homeland.
As part of the dialogue platform, college students had the opportunity to watch and discuss the film "Cultural Code". "The film is serious, there is something to think about. The plot is worthy and fascinating," the students commented on the film released by Belarusfilm.
In continuation of the forum, college students visited the institution's museum.
— The activities of our museum are aimed at preserving, studying and promoting documentary and material evidence of the feat and sacrifices of the Belarusian people during the war in the name of preserving peace on earth, — said Deputy Director for Educational Work Elena Samsonovich. — There has never been such a war as the Great Patriotic War in the history of mankind, as well as such a Great Victory that liberated our people, our country, and all progressive humanity.
The students got acquainted with the museum's expositions, learned a lot of interesting things about the great feat of our compatriots during the war, about the real stories of the life and struggle of the Belarusian people during the difficult war years.
At the end of the forum, the residents of Dubrovna laid wreaths and flowers at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union A.A.Nikandrova.
— We remember the feat of our compatriots during the Great Patriotic War, — Anna Dudovtsova noted during the laying of flowers at the mass grave. — We honor the memory of every dead person, the war must not happen again. And for this, we all need to be united and remember, only in unity is strength.
